【摘要】:ManystandardsandspecificationsreferenceexposuretestsperformedaccordingtostandardsthataretheresponsibilityofCommitteeG03onDurabilityofNonmetallicMaterials.Inmanycases,useofthedatageneratedinthesetestsfailstoconsidertheramificationsofvariabilityintheexposuretestpractices.Thisvariabilitycanhaveaprofoundeffectontheinterpretationofresultsfromtheexposuretests,andifnottakenintoconsiderationintestdesignanddataanalysis,canleadtoerroneousormisleadingconclusions.Thisguidelistssomeofthesourcesfortestvariabilityandrecommendsstrategiesforexecutingsuccessfulweatheringstudies.Notallsourcesofvariabilityinweatheringtestingareaddressedinthisguide.Specificmaterials,samplingprocedures,specimenpreparation,specimenconditioning,andmaterialpropertymeasurementscancontributesignificantlytovariabilityinweatheringtestresults.ManyoftheseconcernsareaddressedinGuideG147.Toreducethecontributionofaninstrumentalmethodtotestvariability,itisessentialtofollowappropriatecalibrationproceduresandASTMstandardsassociatedwiththeparticularpropertymeasurement.AdditionalsourcesofvariabilityintestresultsarelistedinGuideD4853,alongwithmethodsforidentifyingprobablecauses.1.1Thisguidecoversinformationonsourcesofvariabilityandstrategiesforitsreductioninexposuretesting,andfortakingvariabilityintoconsiderationinthedesign,execution,anddataanalysisofbothexteriorandlaboratoryacceleratedexposuretests.1.2Thevaluesstatedineitherinch-poundorSIunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
